One
of Charles Guillaud’s strengths is to paint vibrant and
animated landscapes, where man always has his place. When he stops
to paint a scene one can hear the personalities laughing, singing
and moving.
Life appears to be suspended for an inner truth. Guillaud paints
what he feels and the sensations are what he perceives. His paintings
move, cry out, sing and are full of life. How can one fail to
be taken by the turbulence of his clouds and his skies? How can
we not equally enjoy his personalities at a carnival or a party?
How not to smell the fresh grass and the dew, together with his
scenes of walkers

Charles
Guillaud’s painting shows great sensitivity, aided by powerful
brushstrokes. One takes away with one the burning recollections
of life itself.
Painter of the Earth, he knows how, as few do, to make us become
sensitive to the grandeurs of nature. Gullaud knows at the same
time how to look and how to understand: his landscapes are true
to life: the mists of the northern coasts have the smell of the
sea; the scorching Spanish sun dries our throats; the subtle light
of Tuscany leaves us a feeling of peace and the richness of the
landscapes of Beaujolais and their scatting skies takes us with
them.
